Mercury Mountaineer 1996 To 2001 Class 3 Trailer Hitch 70647
 Hidden Hitch greatly improves the appearance of your Mountaineer compared to conventional square tube hitch receivers. Uses 2 1/2 inch bent round tubing to follow the contours of the vehicle's rear bumper and hides as much of the receiver as possible. Exposed design complements the rear contours
and aerodynamic styling of today's vehicles. Black powder coat finish. Class 3 / III, 2 inch x 2 inch receiver opening. All hardware and instructions included.
Note: Receiver ball mount bar, wiring harness and trailer hitch ball sold separately.

INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: To retain the 16” spare tire under vehicle minor modification to the
forward spare tire catcher is required. Bend it 1/2” towards the front of
Vehicle.
- Raise receiver into position under vehicle, place upright bars against
outboard vertical surface of frame. Align hole in upright bar with existing slot
in frame, both sides.
- Loosely install fasteners through slot in frame and upright bar as shown
above.
- Install remaining fasteners in hitch bracket and bottom of vehicle frame,
both sides as shown.
- Tighten all bolts; refer to the torque table on the instruction sheet.
TOOLS REQUIRED: 3/4” sockets, ratchet or impact gun to suit, 100 FT/LB torque wrench.
